Last month, Chloe Wendling, a 12-year-old cancer survivor from Arizona, had her wish granted when she met Jordan Larson and joined Team USA for a practice in Lincoln, Neb., then watched the Americans take on Poland in a Volleyball Nations League (#VNL) match.

Originally diagnosed with Stage IV lymphoma in early 2016, Chloe is now cancer-free. Her wish was another chapter in the ongoing efforts of the nationwide Make-A-Wish Foundation. Granting Chloe’s wish was a collaborative effort between chapters in Arizona and Nebraska.

Make-A-Wish Arizona has granted more than 5,500 wishes to Arizona wish kids since 1980. And Make-A-Wish Nebraska has “granted 105 wishes last year alone – each one a life-affirming testament to hope, inspiration, and resilience. Wishes strengthen wish kids and their families, rally communities together, and change the lives of everyone involved. Experience the stories of those who know firsthand the power of a wish-come-true.”

According to the Make-A-Wish Nebraska website, “every 34 minutes Make-A-Wish® grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories. We believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us in everything we do. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve.”
