Olympic Gold Medalist Eder Bids Emotional Good-Bye To Trentino

It looks like Eder Carbonera‘s Italian adventure is coming to an end after only one season. The Olympic gold medalist middle blocker has recently published in his personal Instagram page a farewell message to the club, fans, and teammates:

“And yet another season comes to an end. In our first season outside of Brazil, we were received with much affection, respect and joy here at @trentinovolley. The professionalism I have seen here is one of the greatest in the world of volleyball. I am very proud to say that I played in Trentino Volley.

Thanks to the fans who always treated us with great affection from the first day. They certainly won my heart and I will remember those moments forever. And thank you to all the teammates for the moments we shared together. It’s a very special group and I’m sure we made friends for life. Now each one will go on, with new goals, and in different places, and I wish everyone good luck on their next journey. You all live in my heart.”

The move is surprising. Even though Trentino underachieved throughout the season, finishing A1 in 4th place with a 18-8 record, Eder played solidly. He averaged 8.2 points per game, including 2.3 blocks, on 65% hitting, good enough to be ranked as the league’s 2nd best in middle blocker rating. He is now reported by Bruno Voloch to have signed with Sesi-SP.

E chega ao fim mais uma temporada. Na nossa primeira temporada fora do Brasil, fomos recebidos com muito carinho, respeito e alegria aqui no @trentinovolley .
