Asseco Resovia Rzeszow announced in its official website that they have signed Polish 7’1″ middle blocker Bartlomiej Lemanski through 2020. The player was already on contract with the team, but was on loan since 2014 to AZS Politechnika Warszawska, also of the Polish League.
Lemanski is 21 year old, with gifted physical talents: his spike was measure at 11’10” and is blocking at 11’4″. At the youth level, he won a silver medal with Poland in 2013’s CEV U19 European Championship and a bronze medal in 2013’s FIVB U19 World Championship. Recently, he was called upon by the Polish national team to participate in the 2017 FIVB World League, in which Poland finished in 8th place.
Such a long contract negotiation in volleyball is unusual, as team usually plan their squads in a season by season basis. This shows that Resovia must have great faith in Lemanski’s potential. Resovia has won the Polish Championships six times, and are the current tournament runner ups. Here are Lemanski’s and Resovia’s general management reactions to the new contract:
I am very happy I will represent the colors of Asseco Resovia Rzeszów until 2020. This is a very well organized club, where we have everything we need. I believe that for the next few seasons I will be constantly improving my skills, which will be the focus of both the PlusLiga and the national team.” – Bartłomiej Lemański.
The contract we signed with Lemanski shows that we are consistently implementing our strategy of working with talented Polish players in the coming years. We believe that due to Lemanski’s physical conditions, great talent, and above all, hard work, he will be an important player for our team and the Polish national team. We are pleased that Asseco Resovia Rzeszów is a good place for young players to improve their skills and achieve ambitious sports goals.” – Bartosz Górski, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów’s President of the Management Board
