Road Wins Propel Pittsburgh’s Markovic, Ndee to ACC Honors

Pittsburgh upset vote-getters Florida State and Miami (Fla.) last week, with Nika Markovic and Chinaza Ndee reaping the rewards with ACC Player and Freshman of the Week nods respectively.

Markovic, a sophomore right side hitter, notched 4.62 kills per set on a .304 hitting effort, while also adding 2.12 digs and 1.12 blocks per set. The Braslovce, Slovenia, native kicked off her efforts with a 21 kill, 13 dig performance against the Seminoles. She followed that with 16 kills and six blocks against the Hurricanes.

Ndee, a middle blocker, registered 2.12 kills per set, while hitting at a .556 clip in the wins. The Jersey Village, Texas, native also put up six blocks on the weekend. The rookie started off with 10 kills on a .562 hitting effort along with three blocks against FSU. Ndee wrapped up the weekend with seven kills and thre blocks against Miami.
