19th-ranked Canada earned its first victory of the 2018 FIVB World Championship Wednesday, besting 25th-ranked Cuba in 4 sets to keep its second round hopes alive. 7th-ranked Italy swept 12th-ranked Turkey, while top-ranked China gave its young players valuable experience in a 4-set win against 17th-ranked Bulgaria.

Top-ranked China continued its dominance in Pool B, 7th-ranked Italy continued its reign over 25th-ranked Cuba and 12th-ranked Turkey swept past a ‘sorry’ 17th-ranked Bulgarian squad inside Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center in Sapporo Tuesday.
