It wasn’t an easy road for Allie Wheeler/Lara Dykstra, but the Americans won their first World Tour medal as a pairing on Saturday. Meanwhile, Russians Taras Myskiv/Valeriy Samoday won their second straight gold.
Italians Marta Menegatti/Viktoria Orsi Toth won their first tournament together since July 2016, while Russians Maksim Hudyakov/Ruslan Bykanov earned their second title of the season at the Agadir Two Star.
Americans Kelley Larsen/Emily Stockman and Emily Day/Betsi Flint were among the eight women’s teams who made it through qualifiers to the main draw of the Itapema Four-Star on Wednesday. Three German teams highlighted the men’s qualifiers.
The first four quarterfinal berths were decided after 16 pool play matches on Friday with the four pool winners advancing. The remaining eight teams will battle it out in the Round of 12 for the final four spots.
Teams from Switzerland, Italy, Denmark and Iran advanced through two qualifying rounds to earn spots in main draw pool play at the Oman One-Star.
Qualification began for the main draw at the Qinzhou Three Star on Tuesday with three women’s matches and six men’s matches.
