Modena‘s Brazilian setter Bruno Rezende (Bruninho) squashed any rumors of him leaving Modena after this season. Reported to be heading out of the team with his best friend Earvin Ngapeth after a conflict with coach Radostin Stoytchev to either a super team in Paris or Russia, for the second time in a few months he has assured fans of his intent to stay in Modena, this time in an interview given to Gazzetta dello Sport and published on Ivolleymagazine.it:

“There is no truth to the rumors. I haven’t had any contact with Paris. I want to stay in Modena.”

The now 31-year-old Bruno has also said in a recent interview that he plans to play for at least, 11 more yeas, be it at Modena or in Brazil.  He is already in his third stint with the Italian club (2011; 2014-16; 2017-present), having racked up numerous titles and awards along the way. Bruninhoo also has an Olympic gold medal to his name as Brazil’s starting setter in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Bruno also confirmed that Cruzeiro‘s Cuban superstar Yoandy Leal wants to play in Europe:

“As for my compatriot (Yoandy) Leal, I know for sure that he wants to come and play in Europe. We’ll see if he will arrive in Italy. He would be a star of SuperLega for sure.”

If the rumors are indeed true, this could spell utter disaster for Brazil’s Cruzeiro, one of the world’s current elite teams. Either way, the transfer market at the end of the 2017-18 season promises to be epic.
