Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle and Sada Cruzeiro will look to secure their semifinal spot on day three of the 2017 FIVB Men’s Club World Championships. Both teams are 1-1 in the competition so far with Cucine Lube Civitanova already clinching their way into the Final Four as they took down Zaksa today.
Zaksa was on the cusp of winning their match against Lube but fell short late in the fifth set. It was their second five-set match in two days, leaving them on the drained side following the match. Sam Deroo was the leading scorer in the loss with 25 points while Maurice Torres and Mateusz Bieniek followed with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Sada Cruzeiro picked up their first win in the competition after falling at the hand of Lube on day one. Their offensive output saved them in the win over Sarmayeh Bank as they put down 53-31 kills. Leading the offensive was Yoandy Leal Hidalgo with 20 points while Evandro M. Guerra added another 15.
