Josko Milenkoski was recently appointed as head coach of Turkish Ziraatbank volleyball club. Milenkoski has been coaching Maliye Piyango for the past five years, so he is familiar with Turkish volleyball leagues. Milenkoski was also named as head coach of the Turkey men’s national team in January.

Ziraatbank competes in Division 1 in the Turkish league with other top contenders Fenerbache and Halkbank.  They finished the 2016/17 season in 3rd place with a 16-6 record, upsetting top-seeded Fenerbache in the 3rd place match. The team made it to the playoff semi-finals where they lost a 1-2 series against eventual tournament champions, Halkbank.

In February, Fernando Munoz Benitez was released from the head coaching position and was replaced by Juan Manuel Barrial, who was to work with the team until the end of the season.

Before Barrial’s term ended, he secured the renewal of libero Volkan Done, and brought in many different transfers. Opposite Dawid Konarski, opposite Bartosz Kurek, outside hitter Denis Kaliberda Viktorovic, and middle-blocker Sabit Karaagac have all been confirmed transfers for Ziraatbank for the upcoming 2017/18 season.

Ziraatbank had three players transfer away from the team as well. Outside hitter Baturalp Burak Gungor, American middle-blocker David Lee, and opposite Nils Jon Marcus Nilsson have all left Ziraatbank after this past season.
