After three weeks outside of the Top 15, Ball State earned a spot with wins over then No. 7 Loyola and No. 10 Lewis, climbing back into the AVCA poll at No. 14.
The Cardinals were last ranked in the Jan. 22 listing at No. 14.
Penn State moved up from 9 to 7 with wins over Sacred Heart and Harvard, while Pepperdine climbed from 12 to 10 after besting UC Irvine in four on Wednesday and USC in five on Saturday.
Loyola (from 6 to 8) and Grand Canyon (10 to 12) each fell two spots.
The top five teams remained the same, with Ohio State and UC Irvine swapping spots, checking in at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.
Long Beach State is No. 1 for the sixth straight week after holding home court against No. 2 UCLA on Saturday in front of a record crowd. The poll’s top two teams will face off again on Wednesday, this time in Los Angeles.
