Philippine volleyball superstars Alyssa Valdez and Michele Gumabao lead busy lives. They were in Creamline‘s opening day roster as it debuted in the country’s Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference against Petro Gazz Angelst this weekend. Right after the match up ended, the players changed from their volleyball uniforms to gala gowns to attend a ABS-CBN black tie ball (pics below).
Although dressed to perfection in designer dresses for which they model, it’s safe to say that the Creamline‘s debut in the tournament wasn’t as pretty. Although the team battled from a 1-2 deficit to force a tie-break, it managed to suffer a 15-1 run in the game’s final frame en route to losing 3-2 (27-25, 17-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-5).
Valdez had 26 points in the losing effort and vowed to comeback stronger in the team’s next games:
“Of course it’s not really what we anticipated for today. Petro Gazz played really well. We just have to accept it and recover immediately. Of course, we have much more to do as a team. So we’re really looking forward to our next games.”
After the gala on Saturday night, the girls were right back at the gym on Sunday morning to practice for Creamline‘s next game, this time against Tacloban.
