The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation has recently announced that everything is going according to schedule in its organization for the 2018 FIVB Men’s World Championship, which the country will host jointly with Italy. In an announcement to the press, the organizing committee executive and former player Lubomir Ganev assured fans that the institution is fully coordinated with its Italian peers and that interest from fans is sky-rocketing, as tickets are already for sale:

The organization is at full steam. By this time, we have done many things already. Of course, the work is a lot, but everything is under control and we are moving on schedule. Every month we have an organizational meeting with representatives from the Italian Federation, where we discuss the most important issues around the championship. We also have daily correspondence with them. You know that this is a World Championship that takes place in two countries and in order to best represent ourselves as hosts, absolutely everything should be synchronized and at the highest level.

We started selling the tickets both here and in Italy, and I can definitely say that the interest is extremely high. There is a very serious interest from fans in Poland and Finland. The influx of foreign supporters is very big, and as the championship approaches, it is even more serious. Several emails related to the tickets were received several months before the sales began. Interest in the biggest volleyball forum is always huge. The event is extremely important, everyone wants to be present, be part of it and support their team. Poland and Finland are two countries that traditionally have many fans and follow their teams all over the world. So no doubt the halls where these national teams will play will be full. We are surely expecting an unforgettable World Championship!

The 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship will run from 9–30 September and host 24 of the world’s best teams. This is Bulgaria’s second time hosting the event.
