Bulgaria came out on top in four sets in both team’s last match of week two. Brazil has dominated the series, as they had won 19 of 22 before Bulgaria pulled the upset in front of their home crowd last Sunday.
Brazil is in a good spot at 4-2 with 13 points. They sat in second, just two points behind France, until the loss to Bulgaria moved them to third. Regardless of how well they’ve do this week though, Brazil has a secured spot in the final six as the host.
Bulgaria threw themselves into the thick of things with their four-set win over Brazil last week as they sit right on the outside of the top six with eight points coming into the day. With second-place Serbia tomorrow, getting at least a point out of this match will be crucial for Bulgaria, who might even need another upset if they want to make the final six.
