Minnesota Keeps Hold of #1 Spot in AVCA Top 25

Five undefeated teams remain a part of the AVCA Top 25 after Week 3 of NCAA competition. Still among the ranks of the unbeaten are: No. 1 Minnesota (8-0), No. 2 Penn State (7-0), No. 3 Florida (4-0), No. 5 Wisconsin (7-0) and No. 19 Iowa State (7-0).

Minnesota (8-0) kept its hold on the No. 1 spot, after a weekend that included a win over then No. 5 Texas. Penn State (7-0) moved up a spot to No. 2 with a victory over No. 4 Stanford. Florida, which was unable to play due to Hurricane Irma, dropped a spot to No. 3, while Stanford and Wisconsin rounded out the top five.

One team joined the list of ranked teams – No. 24 North Carolina – while the jumps came from Oregon, which climbed three spots to No. 11, and Iowa State, which moved up three spots to No. 19. The biggest drop came from Michigan, which fell five places to No. 21 after falling via sweep to No. 25 Colorado State.

The week that was included a handful of upsets, but for the most part ranked teams held serve.
