The No. 2 Pepperdine beach volleyball team returns to the beach this week, first traveling to No. 4 USC on Tuesday before returning to Zuma Beach in Malibu on Saturday for a round-robin with No. 5 Cal Poly and No. 12 Arizona.
Hawaii’s Emily Maglio and Ka’iwi Schucht boosted their win streak to a record 17 matches as the Rainbow Wahine went 3-0, while Arizona’s Jonny Baham and Brooke Burling led the Wildcats to an upset win over No. 14 Cal and a 4-0 mark on the weekend.

The final day of the Big West Challenge in Sacramento, California, brought mixed results for No. 5 Long Beach State as the 49ers were bested by No. 6 Cal Poly, but rebounded in the tournament finale with a 5-0 win over host Sacramento State.
The AVCA Top 20 played 24 matches on Friday, with four upsets highlighting the slate. No. 12 Florida International topped No. 11 Grand Canyon and No. 8 South Carolina at the Surf & Turf Invitational in Miami, while No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Hawaii, No. 6 Cal Poly, No. 9 Georgia State and No. 10 LSU cruised through the day.
Thursday night beach action saw #16 Loyola Marymount win their three final home matches while #19 Saint Mary’s split their matches.
#5 LBSU had no troubles running through their opponents during a mid-week matchup, sweeping both Oregon and #19 Saint Mary’s.
Amidst a 5-0 record last week, Hawaii senior Ka’iwi Schucht made history on the sand, becoming the school’s all-time leader in dual match wins against Nebraska on March 20.
