Day 6 of the Volleyball Nations League brought some surprising results, but in the end, the top three teams – Poland, the United States and Brazil – moved to 5-1 although Brazil surged ahead of the USA in the standings with a five-set win.
Argentina Surprises Italy in Sweep, Canada Tops Iran in 4
Ryan Sclater and Stephen Maar turned in double-digit point tallies to lift Canada to its third straight VNL victory, while the home crowd finally left happy as the Argentines bested Italy in every way in a surprise sweep on Sunday to close out a three-match homestand.
VNL Day 5 Standings: Australia Earns 1st Win; USA, Poland Move to 5-0
At the end of the day, Poland and the United States moved to 5-0 atop the standings with the Poles boasting the maximum 15 points to the USA’s 13. Brazil, France and Italy round out the top five at 4-1.

Italy bested Iran in kills and aces, while Ivan Zaytsev notched a match-high 16 points, in a sweep. Canada put up 12 blocks and benefitted from 31 Argentine miscues in a four-set win on Saturday.

VNL Standings Update: Poland, USA Last Undefeated Teams at 4-0
Poland and the United States are the last two undefeated teams, each moving to 4-0 with very different results on Friday. Poland holds a slight advantage with 12 points to the USA’s 10. Brazil is 3-1, but also boasts 10 points.
Canada Pushes Past Italy; Iran Bests Error-Riddled Argentina in 5 Sets
Ivan Zaytsev scored 17 points for Italy, but it was not enough to help his side past a Canadian team that was slightly better in every way. Facundo Conte scored a match-high 19 points to pace Argentina, but his team but gave away 40 points on errors in a five-set loss to Iran and dropped to 0-4.
