With NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship at an end, it’s time for awards season. As was expected, continental powerhouses USA and Canada took home most of the prizes.
MVP
Micah Christenson was awarded the most valuable player award after leading Team USA to the gold medal in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He averaged 5.20 average per set, spearheading Team USA’s offense to a 62.4% success rate.

Best Opposite hitters: Aaron Russell (USA) and Stephen Maar (CAN)
American Aaron Russell converted an unheard of 72.6% of his attacks (37 kills on 51 swings).

Best Middle Blockers: Jose Martinez (MEX) and Leonel Antonio Aragon (GUA)
Mexico’s Jose Martinez was the tournament’s best blocker, with 0.75 stuffs per set

Mexico’s Pedro Rangel was chosen as Best Setter with a 5.88 running sets average per set

Best Outside Hitter: Sharone Vernon-Evans (CAN)
Canadian Sharone Evans was the Best Opposite with 32 kills and 43 points for 15th best in the tournament. He also had a 61.5 kill percent, tops among opposite players.

Luis Chavez was named the Best Libero and Best Digger as he had 2.18 digs per set and a 6.64 excellent efficiency in digs and receptions.
