Miriam Sylla‘s 2017-2018 season just added another chapter to its rocky start. In the last couple of months, she has gone from being accused of clenbuterol doping, after testing positive for the substance in the 2017 World Grand Prix,to being acquitted due to food poisoning allegations. Now, only a few days after being reinstated and reintegrating Bergamo Volley’s squad, she has suffered a shoulder injury which will see her miss some playing time, according to Volley Bergamo’s official twitter page.

Her team will need her to recove soon, as they are already without setter Ofelia Malinov, who has been recovering from an ankle fracture. Both players were not in uniform for Italy’s disappointing 2017 CEV European Championships run, which saw the team get eliminated early in the quarterfinals by The Netherlands. The elimination prompted some backlash from Italy’s volleyball official governing body.

Here is the heartfelt message she shared with fans on Instagram:

You do not know what life holds for you. You do not know how many times you fall, or how many times you’ll have to start over again. You do not know if you will cry or continue on strongly. You do not know who will stay at your side, and who will leave you. There will be sad moments or beautiful surprises, but what matters is to live life strongly!
