The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship was held in Poland from August, 30 to September, 21, pitting 24 teams against each other in matches that took place in seven different Polish cities. The opening match between the hosts and Serbia was attended by 62,000 spectators at the National Stadium in Warsaw. At the finals, Poland prevented a Brazilian four-peat by taking home the gold.
