SEC: #10 Florida Blocks RV Georgia’s Upset Bid

10th-ranked Florida registered 20 blocks, the 2nd-highest total recorded in the rally-scoring era, to halt RV Georgia’s upset bid 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Gators remain undefeated in SEC action, as Taelor Kellum and Mia Sokolowski notched career-high block totals.

#10 Florida def. RV Georgia 3-2 (25-13, 22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-9)

10th-ranked Florida survived a 5-set battle with Georgia, which received votes in this week’s VolleyMob power rankings, on Sunday afternoon in Gainesville, Fla. The Gators held the edge over the Bulldogs in attack percentage (.183 to .101), blocks (20 to 11) and service aces (7 to 4) to secure the win and stay undefeated in SEC action.

Florida’s 20-block effort is the 2nd-highest total ever recorded in the rally-scoring era of the volleyball program. The record was set when the Gators registered 21 team blocks against Tennessee on Oct. 22, 2004. Taelor Kellum (12) and Mia Sokolowski (8) each posted career-high block totals against the Bulldogs.
