VolleyMob Dream Team: NCAA Tournament Regionals

In lieu of our weekly Player of the Week award, throughout the NCAA Tournament, VolleyMob will choose a dream team of three hitters, two middle blockers, a setter and a libero.

For the NCAA regional rounds, there were several outstanding performances, making our jobs especially difficult, but without further ado, we present VolleyMob’s Regional Round Dream Team.

HITTERS

Kathryn Plummer, Stanford – So., OH
Averaged 5.86 kills, 2.00 digs and 1.00 blocks per set, while hitting .360 in wins over Wisconsin and Texas; notched 22 kills, nine digs, five blocks and two aces, while hitting .425 vs. Wisconsin; posted 19 kills, five digs, two blocks, while hitting .304 vs. Texas; Palo Alto Region MVP

Simone Lee, Penn State – Sr., OH
Averaged 4.50 kills and 3.00 digs per set, while hitting .379; posted 15 kills, eight digs, while hitting .500 vs. Missouri; notched 12 kills, 10 digs, and three blocks, while hitting .281 and going a perfect 14-for-14 on serve receive vs. Michigan State; University Park Region Most Outstanding Player

Autumn Bailey, Michigan State – RS Sr., OH
Averaged 4.42 and 3.00 digs per set, while hitting .271 vs. Illinois and Penn State; notched 13 kills, 9 digs, five aces, while hitting .194 vs. Illinois; tallied 18 kills and 12 digs, while hitting .333 vs. Penn State

 

MIDDLE BLOCKERS

Rhamat Alhassan, Florida – Sr., MB
Averaged 2.67 kills and 1.78 blocks per set, while hitting .400; notched 10 kills, 10 blocks and 2 digs, while hitting .375 vs. UCLA; helped Florida hold UCLA to a .124 team hitting effort; tallied 14 kills, six blocks and three digs while hitting .423 vs. USC

Briana Holman, Nebraska – Sr., MB
Averaged 2.42 kills and 1.71 blocks per set, while hitting .406; recorded six kills and six blocks, while hitting .386 vs. Colorado; posted 11 kills and six blocks, while hitting .451 vs. Kentucky

 

SETTER

Jenna Gray, Stanford – So., S
Averaged 13.14 assists and 0.86 digs per set, while leading the team to a .368 hitting effort against Wisconsin and Texas; dished out 53 assists and added four digs, three kills, two blocks and an ace as team hit .436 vs. Wisconsin; tallied 39 assists, two kills, two blocks, two digs and two aces at team hit .304 vs. Texas; All-Region team

 

LIBERO

Victoria Garrick, USC – Jr., L
Averaged 5.25 digs and 1.5 assists per set; made good on 30 of 31 serve reception chances (97 percent); posted 20 digs and five assists vs. Minnesota; accounted for 22 digs, seven assists and two aces vs. Florida
