Zenit Kazan secured its third straight CEV Champions League gold medal with a 3-0 sweep of host Sir Sicoma Colussi Perugia in Rome on Sunday afternoon. Eleven aces and a 63 percent hitting efficiency bolstered the Zenit Kazan effort in the 25-15, 25-23, 25-14 win.

Maxim Mikhailov managed 19 points, including three blocks and 15 kills to pace the champions from the Russian Super League. Wilfredo Leon Venero added 16 points, including four aces.
For Sir Sicoma Colussi Perugia, of the Italian Serie A, Ivan Zaytsev carried the load with 14 points, including 11 kills and three blocks. Aleksandar Atanasiejevic added nine points, including two aces.
Perugia led 8-6 early in the first set, but Zenit Kazan turned it around to take a 16-13 lead. The lead had expanded to 21-14 by the final timeout leading to the 25-15 win.
Set 2 was actually controlled by Perugia until late. After trailing 8-7 early, the hosts managed one point leads at 16-15 and 21-20, before Zenit Kazan stole away the 25-23 win.
Set 3 belonged to Zenit Kazan throughout. An 8-6 lead at the first technical timeout had bumped to seven at 16-9 and eventually 10 at 21-11 as the defending champs cruised to a 25-14 win and the gold medal.
