No. 2/2 Stanford vs. No. 4/3 Texas. Not once, but twice fans get to see these two Top 5 programs throw down in Week 4 of the NCAA Volleyball schedule. The Longhorns travel to Palo Alto, Calif., on Tuesday, before the Cardinal return the favor with a trip to Austin, Texas, on Friday.

  • Illinois rose to No. 6 in Week 3 after recording a trio of victories last week and surviving the rash of nationally-ranked upsets. The Fighting Illini are 1 of 9 undefeated programs remaining nationally and will be tested when 14th-ranked Creighton comes to town.
  • Thus far, Illinois has cut its teeth on the road in 2018 and will open its home slate with the Illini Classic Presented by Hyatt Place. The Fighting Illini posted a 7-5 record inside Huff Hall last season.
  • Creighton, which is 6-3 on the season, registered a pair of wins 4 set wins against Iowa State and Wichita State last weekend. The Bluejays opened the season with a bang, knocking off 5th-ranked Kentucky and Northern Iowa before falling to 10th-ranked USC in 5.
  • Illinois has never dropped a match to Creighton, leading the all-time series 4-0.

Wisconsin (No. 3 VolleyMob/No. 6 AVCA) at Marquette (No. 17 VolleyMob/No. 22 AVCA)

  • The upset bug bit the then-ranked 3rd Badgers in Waco, Texas, last weekend as they were bested by 15th-ranked Baylor in 4 sets before rebounding with a sweep of North Texas.
  • Wisconsin is 1-1 against ranked opponents this season, earning a 4-set win over then-ranked 2nd Texas.
  • Marquette is 7-2 this season, falling short only to then-ranked 16th Baylor in 4 Week 1 and top-ranked BYU last week.
  • Wisconsin has never fallen to Marquette and owns a 19-0 advantage in the all-time series. The programs met twice last year with the Badgers defeating the Golden Eagles 3-1 during the regular season and 3-0 in the NCAA Tournament first round.

  • Two of California’s best will battle it out on Friday as 10th-ranked USC makes the trip to meet 24th-ranked San Diego.
  • The Trojans, who are 6-3 on the season, are looking to right the ship after a tough 1-2 weekend in Wisconsin, which included losses to top-ranked BYU, 3-0 and then-ranked 22nd Marquette, 3-2. USC salvaged the tournament with a win, edging Syracuse 3-2 in the finale match.
  • San Diego’s record of 2-4 is deceiving, as 3 of its 4 losses were to teams ranked in the Top 25. The Toreros notched a win in 4 sets over then-ranked 15th Baylor.
  • USC leads San Diego, 11-1, in the all-time series. The Trojans downed the Toreros in the NCAA Tournament second round in 5 sets.
