The top four – BYU, Stanford, Minnesota and Penn State – remained the same in the AVCA Top 25 poll, but the Cardinal did pick up two additional first place votes on Week 9.
BYU earned 58 first place votes to Stanford’s six. In previous weeks, the Cougars notched 60 to the Cardinals’ four.
Moving into the top five was undefeated Pittsburgh (22-0), fresh off a huge ACC four-set win over Louisville on Sunday. The Panthers moved into the No. 5 spot previously occupied by Nebraska, which fell four places to No. 9 after dropping Week 8 contests to Minnesota (3-1) and Wisconsin (3-2).

With the victory over the Huskers, the Badgers climbed two spots to No. 7.
Creighton holds down the No. 10 spot for the seventh straight week, checking in at 18-4 and 10-0 in the Big East with a five-set win over Xavier and a sweep of Butler.
The biggest mover of the week was Washington State, which moved up four spots to No. 19 with home victories over USC (3-2) and UCLA (3-1).
New to the poll on Week 9 are Missouri, which went from receiving votes to No. 24 with a five-set upset win over then No. 11 Florida on Sunday, and UCF, which garnered its first ever AVCA ranking at No. 25.

The Knights, which are 18-3 and 9-0 in American Athletic Conference action after road wins over East Carolina (3-0) and Cincinnati (3-2), are on a 15-match win streak, the program’s longest since 1997.
