French national team player, Kevin Tillie, has agreed to contract terms with Beijing BAIC Motor and will return for a second professional season with the Chinese side.

After recovering from shoulder surgery in 2017, the 6-6 (200 cm) outside attacker led Beijing to the finals of the Chinese Volleyball Super League, falling to Shanghai Volleyball in the championship match.

At the conclusion of the season, Tillie tweeted: “The end of another season!! Lost in the finals but it was a fun adventure and it felt good coming back from 3 surgeries and a long summer of rehab and preparation!!”

Tillie is currently preparing for 2018 Men’s Volleyball Nations League play with his native France. France opens competition in Rouen, France from May 25-27, which will kick off five consecutive weekends of international competition around the world. Should France advance to the finals, they would compete for the title at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, France.

Prior to joining Beijing BAIC Motor last season, Tillie spent two professional campaigns in Poland with Kedzierzyn-Kozie after one-year stints in Turkey with Arkas Spor Izmir and Italy with Ravenna Volleyball. During two years of NCAA collegiate volleyball in the United States, Tillie led UC Irvine to back-to-back national championships (2012 and 2013), and was named to the AVCA First Team All-American both seasons.
