Nine different Anteaters contributed to the team effort that lifted UC Irvine to a 3-1 victory over CSUN (25-21, 25-19, 15-25, 25-19) at the Bren Events Center Thursday.
Three players joined the 1,000 kill/1,000 dig club on Week 9 as Auburn’s Brenna McIlroy, College of Charleston’s Devon Rachel and American’s Aleksandra Kazala each crossed the 1,000 digs mark.
The top four – BYU, Stanford, Minnesota and Penn State – remained the same in the AVCA Top 25 poll, but the Cardinal did pick up two additional first place votes on Week 9. New to the poll on Week 9 are Missouri, which jumped in at No. 24 with a five-set upset win over then No. 11 Florida on Sunday, and UCF, which garnered its first ever AVCA ranking at No. 25.
