Another transfer comes out of Arizona State in Olivia Whittingham, who is taking her talents to Loyola University Chicago for the 2017 season.

After missing most of her freshman season at Arizona State due to an injury, Whittingham only saw action in three sets in her 2016 campaign. Before her injury, Whittingham posted three kills against Butler, adding two digs in the match. Last season, Arizona State posted a 12-20 record.

“Olivia is a dynamic athlete with a great arm and IQ for the game,” said Loyola’s head coach Chris Muscat. “Beyond what we feel she will physically contribute to our program, we instantly recognized that she has the personality to be a great fit for our culture and the outstanding people we have been fortunate enough to recruit to our program.”

Whittingham is now the sixth player to transfer out of Arizona State since the conclusion of the season. The teams head coach, Stevie Mussie, resigned her position after just one season at Arizona State. With the departure of Mussie, Sanja Tomasevic was promoted as head coach of the team.

Arizona State transfers include: BreElle Bailey (NC State), Kylie Pickrell (NC State), Lexi MacLean (TCU), Mmachi Nwoke (Kansas) and Jasmine Koonts (Ohio State).
