Eight teams punched their tickets to the Round of 16 at the Kish Island Three Star on Wednesday, each notching a pair of victories in pool play action.

The group included qualifiers Andrea Abbiati/Tiziano Andreatta (Italy), Arnas Rumsevicius/Lukas Kazdailis (Lithuania) and Konstantin Semenov/Ilya Leshukov (Russia). 

Martins Plavins/Edgars Toc (Latvia), Alex Ranghieri/Marco Caminati (Italy) advanced after winning both matches in straight sets. 

Mariusz Prudel/Jakub Sazalnkiewicz (Poland), Julian Horl/Tobias Winter (Austria) and Ade Rachmawan Candra/Mohammad Ashfiya (Indonesia) also made it into the top eight, but had to fight through three-set affairs in their second match of the day to advance. 

Americans Stafford Slick/Casey Patterson and Bill Kolinske/Miles Evans will look to rebound after opening round losses, fighting for their lives on Thursday. Slick/Patterson lost in straight sets to Semoenov/Leshukov (Russia), while Kolinske/Evans went down to French pair Olivier Barthelemy/Romain Di Giantommaso in straight sets.
