The final stop on the King of the Court Crown Series tour hits Huntington Beach, California on Saturday with 20 men’s and 20 women’s teams competing.
Three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings is partnering up with fellow American Brooke Sweat for the P1440/FIVB co-sponsored four-star event in Las Vegas in October. Sweat is returning to the court after rotator cuff surgery.
AVP Chicago will see 124 teams, including qualifiers, compete on the last stop on the three-event gold series, which features increased points and a $250,000 prize purse.
Kerri Walsh Jennings has not made an official announcement about a new partner, but the three-time Olympic gold medalist teamed up with 2017 USC alumna Kelly Claes for the top podium spot at the NORCECA Women’s Qualifier on Wednesday.
Seven of the top eight seeds, including Americans April Ross/Alix Klineman, won pool titles in Moscow. Qualifiers Elize Maia/Maria Clara Salgado rounded out the group as the third Brazilian pool winners.

As the women’s race for the Vienna Major title dropped from 16 members down to four, all five American pairs were eliminated from the competition. Two Brazilian teams, one Dutch and one from the Czech Republic remain.
