Norway’s Anders Mol/Christian Sorum won their fourth straight gold medal and biggest yet, taking the FIVB World Tour Finals title with two wins on Saturday, including a gold medal win sweep of ninth-seeded Michal Bryl/Grzegorz Fijalek of Poland.
The final four is set for the men’s FIVB World Tour Finals after pool play concluded and two quarterfinal matches were contested on Friday. Two teams from Poland, one from Germany and one from Norway will vie for podium positions.
Germans Julius Thole/Clemens Wickler and Norway’s Anders Mol/Christian Sorum are 3-0, while fifth seeded Latvians Aleksandrs Samoilovs/Janis Smedins and sixth-seeded Spaniards Pablo Herrera/Adrian Gavira were mathematically eliminated from the race for the FIVB World Tour Finals title on Thursday.
Day 1 of the World Tour Finals included eight men’s matches with Poland’s Piotr Kantor/Bartosz Losiak headlining the action with a pair of victories. Meanwhile, Norwegians Anders Mol/Christian Sorum extended their win streak to 20 matches.

Six of the seven teams that moved on to the quarterfinals on Friday won their respective pools. The lone exceptions so far are Brazilians Alison/Andre, who ousted third seeded Brouwer/Meeuwsen.
After qualifying and the first three pool play matches in eight groups, teams from eight countries earned free passes to the second knockout round with pool titles. The victors included the top seven seeds and the No. 9 pair.
Young Norwegians Anders Mol/Christian Sorum continued their winning tear from the month of July, extending their current win streak to 19 matches with a Vienna Beach Major title victory over Poland’s Michal Bryl/Grzegorz Fijalek.
The men’s semifinals are set for the Vienna Beach Major with No. 3 Anders Mol/Christian Sorum of Norway and No. 5 Dutch pair Alexander Brouwer/Robert Meeuwsen leading the field. No. 14 Grzegorz Fijalek/Michal Bryl (Poland) and No. 24 Cherif Younousse/Ahmed Tijan (Qatar) round out the group.
