On the final day of the 2017 Men’s African Volleyball Championship in Cairo, Egypt, there was two things that we still to be decided. First, who would be the champions of Africa between Tunisia and the hosts Egypt. And second, which team between Algeria and Cameroon would be the third African representative at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championships in Italy and Bulgaria.

There were also two position matches to be played before the two big matches. In the 7th Place match, Libya comfortably swept DR Congo 3-0. While in the 5th Place match, Morocco and Rwanda had to go five sets for Morocco to win 3-2.

After some difficult referees decisions on the 27th in the semifinals against Egypt, Cameroon wanted to flip the page on Sunday to finish in 3rd place and take the last African spot in the 2018 World Championships. Whereas Algeria wanted to

In a thoroughly dominant performance in the championship match, Tunisia did not give Egypt a chance to get into the match. Tunisia reduced Egypt’s score in each set in the three set sweep for their first African Men’s championship since 2003. Egypt had won every title since 2005.
