Sada Cruzeiro and Zenit Kazan will meet up in the semifinals of the 2017 FIVB Men’s Club World Championships.
Zenit Kazan has remained unbeaten so far through pool play, without dropping a set. Their latest win came against PGE Skra Belchatow to which they were able to fight through in the first two sets but dominated in the third. Wilfredo Leon led the squad with 20 points while Maxim Mikhaylov and Matt Anderson added another 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Sada Cruzeiro picked up their play, winning their match over Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle in straight sets. The win was a must for the reigning champions as they lost their opening day match to Cucine Lube Civitanova – needing all three matches to determine their spot in the semifinals. Yoandy Leal Hidalgo led the team with 19 points while Evandro M. Guerra and Robertlandy Simon Atles posted 17 and 11 points, respectively.
