2017 FIVB WORLD LEAGUE – GROUP 1

France will look to redeem themselves after falling in their first match of the FIVB World League to Italy on the first day of week three in five sets.

France has had some lineup changes in the past week, with Kevin Le Roux going down with an ankle sprain against the United States last Sunday, and Earvin Ngapeth coming back from an injury, not seeing the floor against Italy. Stephen Boyer has been a consistent force for the French side and the player to watch out for in the match. Against Italy, Boyer managed to put down 19 points in the loss, five more than any Italian player. The French side will have to cut down on their errors and put up a decent block to keep their previous two weeks of play legacy alive.

The loss sets the squad back in points earned, gaining only one in the loss, now having 19 points, just three ahead of Brazil.

Canada’s strong suit has come in libero Blair Bann, as he has 59 digs and an average of 2.19 digs per set. Graham Vigrass has been a force to be reckoned with at the net, blocking 16 balls in the World League. The Canadian crew took down Belgium in their first match of week three over Belgium in five sets. The win propelled the Canadians to the fourth place rank in the competition with four wins.

France vs. Canada starts at 11:10 AM Eastern Time in the U.S. and can be seen live here:
