Polish President And Prime Minister Congratulate Team For WCH Victory

Both President of Poland Andrez Duda and Prime Minster of Poland Mateausz Morawiecki congratulated their national volleyball team on their victory at the 2018 FIVB World Championships.

After defeating the United States 3-2 in the semifinals, they took their winnings ways to the final against Brazil, taking home the victory in three straight sets (28-26, 25-20, 25-23).

On Twitter, Duda wrote “Polish Volleyball World Champion for the second time in a row! What a joy! What a success !!! THANK YOU !!! You are great!! Bravo White and Red! BRAVO!!!”

From the official presidential account “Kancelaria Prezydenta” which roughly translates to “office of the president” sent out a tweet claiming that Duda said, “this great success deserves state awards,” following the Poles victory against Brazil.

Morawiecki tweeted out, “Great team victory in a big way! The second in a row world championships, double joy fans in all of Poland! Golden heroes, the best of the best, invincible white and red team! I hope that employers will forgive tomorrow for possible lateness” At the end of the tweet Morawiecki included a winky face.

The victory for Poland marks the second championship in a row where they’ve beaten Brazil in the final to take home the victory. It’s Poland‘s third time winning the tournament following victories in 1974 and 2014. They’re now tied with Italy as the third winningest country in the tournament’s history behind only Russia and Brazil. Russia is the only nation to have won the tournament more than six times.
