Ahead of the FIVB World Championships in Vienna, the FIVB caught up with Brazilian champions Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt and up-and-comers Alvaro Morais Filho and Saymon Barbosa Santos to get their take on the love for beach volleyball in their country.

The group talked about the many tournaments in Brazil which help build the elite culture, the dedication of the athletes and their country’s love for the sport in general.

Alison/Bruno are the reigning Olympic and World Champions, who are coming off a ninth-place finish at the Olsztyn Four-Star last week. The duo won the Rio Four Star in May and took the bronze at the Porec Five Star on July 2.

Alvaro/Saymon, which are in their second year as a pairing, finished third at the Gstaad Five Star and fifth at the Rio Four Star earlier this year.

The World Championships in Vienna begin on July 28. The full schedule is here, while a breakdown of the men’s field is here.
