The Hague in Netherlands Takes Host to Beach and World League (VIDEO)

The Hague takes host to maybe the most mystifying pool to round out week three of Group 2. Netherlands and Slovakia both sit with 12 points in a tie with Japan behind Slovenia’s 15. With host Australia guaranteed a spot in the final four, only three of those four teams with 12 or more points will advance.

The other two nations in the pool are both 3-3 – Korea and the Czech Republic. The Czechs need to go 3-0 this week for a real shot at the final four, but it wouldn’t be impossible as they only sit three points behind the group with a dozen points.

On the beach side, The Hague’s indoor beach volleyball arena is taking host to the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. It should be a packed weekend at the wonderful venue. Reinder Nummendor, tournament director, noted that he believes this is the first time both beach and indoor at this high-level have coincided in a scene-setter of The Hague:
