This week’s VolleyMob Player of the Week posted strong all-around numbers in wins over three ranked opponents last week. Pepperdine’s David Wieczorek averaged 4.90 kills, 1.40 digs, 1.00 aces and 0.90 blocks per set, while hitting .400.
The redshirt junior outside hitter notched 12 kills, a career-high six aces, four blocks and two digs, while hitting .320 in a sweep of No. 14 Concordia Irvine on Thursday. The Chicago native tallied 15 kills, five digs, a block and an ace, while hitting .500 in a sweep of No. 13 Grand Canyon on Saturday. Wieczorek wrapped up the week by pounding down a season-high 22 kills and posting seven digs, four blocks and three aces, while hitting .390 against No. 3 Hawaii on Sunday. He also made good on 51 of 53 serve reception chances en route to his fourth MPSF Offensive Player of the Week honor, the most by a player in a single season since 2006, when records are available.

Averaged 4.85 kills and 2.43 digs per set, while hitting .406 and notching six blocks and three aces; downed 18 kills and added nine digs and two aces, while hitting .483 in a sweep of #14 Concordia Irvine; tallied 16 kills, eight digs, a career-high six blocks and an ace, while hitting .343 in a four-set win over #13 Grand Canyon
Nicolas Szerszen, Ohio State – Sr., OH
Averaged 4.50 kills and 1.62 digs per set, while hitting .561; tallied 22 kills, five digs and three aces, while hitting .600 in a five-set win over Penn State; chalked up 14 kills, eight digs and two aces, while hitting .519 in a sweep of Saint Francis; made good on 34 of 37 serve reception chances; MIVA Offensive Player of the Week
Jeff Jendryk, Loyola – Sr., MB
Averaged 4.33 kills and 1.00 digs per set, while hitting .684; notched 13 kills on 19 errorless swings and added three digs and a block in a Saturday sweep of Lewis to keep the Ramblers atop the MIVA standings; MIVA Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Josh Tuaniga, Long Beach State – Jr., S
Dished out 11.43 assists and added 1.14 digs per set, while helping the 49ers to a .427 hitting effort in a series sweep of #12 UC Santa Barbara; notched 33 assists and three digs in a sweep, while helping the team to a .390 hitting effort on Friday; posted 47 assists, five digs and four kills, while setting team to a .456 effort on Saturday
