Mexico will be hosting the Group 3 Finals in Leon June 17th and 18th. Sunday will be the final matchday for Group 3 teams and we’ll give you the different ways the other three teams will qualify for the Group 3 Finals.

Germany currently at 4-1 with 12 points (Qualified)

Germany has the best record of all teams in Group 3. As Spain and Austria are playing each other, the losing team cannot overtake Germany even if Germany loses, due to Germany’ s sets ratio being better.  Tunisia can match on points with a win and a Germany loss in less than 5 sets, but cannot match Germany on sets ratio.

Estonia currently at 4-1 with 11 points

Estonia will play Greece on Sunday. Need to at least get 2 set wins to guarantee a point, which would give them 12 points and a higher sets ratio than the loser of Austria-Spain to clinch playoff berth. Tunisia can match on points with a 5 set win, but cannot match Estonia on sets ratio. Estonia would be out with Tunisia in 3 or 4 sets (12 points) and an Estonia loss in 3 or 4 sets (11 points).

Austria currently at 4-1 with 11 points

If Austria beats Spain, they will go to the Finals. Otherwise, must have Estonia lose in 3 or 4 sets and Austria must win 2 sets to reach 12 points, Estonia at 11 points. Also, if Tunisia wins in 3, Austria must win 2 sets to match at 12 points. Austria would have the points ratio tiebreaker over Tunisia.

Spain currently at 4-1 with 11 points

If Spain beats Austria, they will go to the Finals. Otherwise, must have Estonia lose in 3 or 4 sets and Spain must win 2 sets to reach 12 points, Estonia at 11 points. Also, if Tunisia wins in 4, Spain must win 2 sets to match at 12 points. Spain would have the sets ratio tiebreaker over Tunisia. If Tunisia wins in 3, Spain is out with a loss.

Tunisia currently at 3-2 with 9 points

Tunisia must defeat Montenegro in 3 sets to reach 12 points. If tied with Spain at 12 points, they will win the tiebreaker on sets ratio . If Estonia loses in 3 or 4 sets and Austria-Spain ends in less than 5 sets, Tunisia would qualify with a win in 3 or 4 sets.
