Team of The Week: Minas

Minas completely outclassed Sesi this week, a team it spent all season trailing in the standings, and which has a much more expensive roster. The club held Sesi to only 41% hitting while performing at 56% as a team. It also out-blocked Sesi 10 to 4 for the game. Minas is now within striking distance of Superliga’s Top 4, and will be able to fight for playoff home court advantage in Superliga’s next rounds.

Player of The Week: João Ferreira

Sesc is still flying high in its Superliga debut season, mainly because of its well balanced roster, which has lots of players able to make sizable contributions towards winning. This week it was João Ferreira‘s turn. He torched Ponta Grossa‘s defense for 13 points on a very efficient 12/17 (71%) hitting night, allowing his team to close the game in lightning fashion.
