Rosamaria Montibeller led a group of four double-digit scorers for Brazil in a four-set win over Thailand.
Montibeller racked up 18 points on 14 kills, a team-best three aces and a block. Tandara Caixeta notched 14 points (12 kills, 2 blocks) before exiting the match after three sets, while Ana Beatriz Correa (12) and Ana Carolina Da Silva (11) followed. Correa put up a team-leading three blocks and added nine kills, while Da Silva chipped in eight kills, two stuffs and an ace.
Thailand also boasted four double-digit scorers led by Hattaya Bamrungsuk‘s 14 points (13 kills, 1 ace). Onuma Sittirak (11), Wilavan Apinyapong (11) and Ajcharaporn Kongyot (11) rounded out the group. Kongyot turned in 10 kills and a block, while Sittirak downed nine kills and a team-best two aces. Apinyapong racked up eight putaways and a team-high two blocks.
Brazil edged Thailand in kills (55-48), blocks (10-6) and points off errors (22-18) in the match, while both teams managed five aces.
After dominating the opening set, Brazil found itself in a late battle in Set 2. Thailand rallied from a 22-18 deficit to knot the score, before Montibeller came through with a kill and an ace to give the team a set-point try. A block sealed the 25-22 win.
Montibeller scored nine points in Set 3, but it was not enough to lift Brazil to victory as Thailand came out on top 25-18.
In Set 4, the outside hitter was front and center once again with a kill and served up two aces in a string of seven-straight points which put the match out of reach.
Italy def. Belgium 3-0

Italy dominated Belgium in every way in a much-needed sweep on Wednesday.
With a win the only way to keep their Final Six hopes alive, the Italians came through with an all-around team effort. Italy bested Belgium in kills (45-32), blocks (10-4) and aces (10-4) to overcome 18 miscues. The Belgians committed just nine errors in the match.
Elena Pietrini and Paola Egonu posted 19 points apiece to lead the Italian effort, while Lucia Bosetti followed with 12. Pietrini put down a match-high 16 kills and added a team-best three aces, while Egonu chipped in 14 putaways, three aces and two blocks. Bosetti tacked on nine kills, two blocks and an ace. Anna Danesi put up a team-high three blocks.
Marlies Janssens paced Belgium with 13 points (8 kills, 3 blocks, 2 aces), while Britt Herbots and Celine Van Gestel were limited to seven points apiece. Silke Van Avermaet also added seven points. Herbots managed just seven kills, while Van Gestel and Van Avermaet followed with six apiece.
Belgium boasted the lead just twice in the match at 1-0 and 13-12 in Set 1. Pietrini broke the Italians free with two kills and an ace en route to a 25-22 win.
After dropping Set 2 25-18, Belgium fought back, knotting the score at 11 and 12 in Set 3. Egonu came through with a pair of kills to give Italy back the lead both times and the team hung on for the win.
