“Our team has been showing superiority on the court since we have been together for eight years, exchanging one piece or another, but without letting the level drop. Now it’s the semifinal and we’re looking for another title.”
- Sesi/SP eliminated Corinthians/Guarulhos by beating it 3-0 (28/30 22/25 23/25) behind Alan Souza‘s 24 points on a 23/30 (77%) hitting effort. Rodrigo Nascimento had 19 points in the losing effort. Sesi hit 67% from the field as a team in what arguably its best game of the season. Alan commented on his superb playoff performances so far:
“The staff gives me a lot of confidence when it comes game time. From the beginning when Rubinho bet on me as a starter, everyone always gave me a lot of strength. They say I’m young, that I have to have fun. It always gives you confidence to have Olympic champions speaking this way to you. I always go there and give my best. It’s my first playoff playing as a starter. It’s working. Let’s see what the future holds.”
- EMS Funvic/Taubate eliminated Minas Tenis Clube by beating it (22/25 17/25 20/25) behind Wallace Souza‘s 11 points on 8/13 (62%) hitting. Henrique Honorato had 10 points in the losing effort. Minas had 34 errors as a team to Taubate’s 17 mistakes. Taubaté’s Marko Ivovic commented the win:
“Sada/Cruzeiro is one of the best teams in the world. They are title favorites, but we have a chance. Our team has battled with injuries, but I believe we are playing much better than before. We are evolving as a team and we’ll be able to have good games against Cruzeiro.”
