- FIVB World Grand Prix Group 3 Semifinals
A spot in the finals is on the line between Hungary and France, who both made it out of pool play undefeated. Either way, one team making their World Grand Prix debut will be appearing in the championship match of Group 3.
Hungary compiled the top mark of Group 3 at 6-0 with 18 points. They won five of their matches in 3-0 fashion, while the sixth came in four sets. Greta Szakmary has led the team as one of the top spikers in Group 3, with a 42% attack rate.
France wasn’t too far behind Hungary, also going 6-0 in pool play. The only difference is they had 16 points with two of their wins going to a fifth set. While Hungary has one of the best spikers, France features the top receiver in Group 3 as Alexandra Rochelle is the only woman above a 50% efficiency at 53%.
The winner of this match will not only appear in the championship match, but they will also become the first country to win their first seven matches at the World Grand Prix.
