Poland Continues Dominance on Day 2 of Grand Prix Group 2

2017 FIVB WORLD GRAND PRIX GROUP 2 – DAY 2 SUMMARY

After embarrassing their opening opponents Croatia on Friday, Group 2 leaders Poland remained perfect on Saturday with a 3-set sweep of Canada. Canada, ranked 19th in the world, put up a better fight than did Croatia, ranked 18th in the world, but played a wild match with Poland where the first and third sets were competitive, but the 2nd was a blowout at 25-9.

Peru, Czech Republic, and Bulgaria all remained unbeaten as well with day 2 wins. Peru got another 24 points from Angela Leyva, who had 24 points i a 3-0 win over Colombia. She’s the early group 2 scoring leader after 23 points in the team’s opener against Puerto Rico.

Croatia, meanwhile, recovered from that day 1 thumping  to beat Argentina in 5 sets.

  3. Sets ratio
  4. Points ratio
  5. If the tie continues as per the point ratio between two teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the last match between them. When the tie in points ratio is between three or more teams, a new classification of these teams in the terms of points 1, 2 and 3 will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.
  • Match won 3–0 or 3–1: 3 match points for the winner, 0 match points for the loser
  • Match won 3–2: 2 match points for the winner, 1 match point for the loser
